During Fall Break of 2010, dozens of Southeastern students, along with members of Open Door Baptist Church in Raleigh, traveled to Haiti to work with Canaan Christian Community. They did medical work, fed hundreds of people, helped with construction projects and loved orphans. They returned blessed. Haiti needs bold men and women prepared to preach and teach the Gospel. You can be one of them.
The Canaan Christian Community is a microcosm of the biblical Canaan, providing more than a hundred children with a home within God’s family.
The 38 members of the team were blessed as they blessed more than 150 Haitian orphans, pastors and caretakers.
During the trip, Southeastern students lived with the orphans and ministered to them by providing the children with love and attention.
Some team members spent time building and repairing structures around the 90-acre campus of Canaan Christian Community.
The orphanage provides not just for physical needs, but love for children who might not otherwise have it.
As part of their work at Canaan, the team ministered to the hurting during medical and dental clinics.
More than 45 pastors, representing 130 churches gathered for three days at Canaan to be equipped for the work of the ministry.
